Abstract

We present a genome assembly from an individual Leuciscus leuciscus (Dace; Chordata; Actinopteri; Cypriniformes; Leuciscidae). The assembly contains two haplotypes with total lengths of 1 198.36 megabases and 1 179.02 megabases. In haplotype 1, 96.76% of the sequence is scaffolded into 25 chromosomal pseudomolecules, and 97.75% of the haplotype 2 sequence is similarly scaffolded. The mitochondrial genome has also been assembled, with a length of 17.59 kilobases. This assembly was generated as part of the Darwin Tree of Life project, which produces reference genomes for eukaryotic species found in Britain and Ireland.
