Abstract

This study investigates the psychological impacts of short-form video platforms such as TikTok, Facebook Reels, and Instagram Reels on the youth of Bangladesh. Through a mixed-methods approach combining survey data, focus groups, and secondary literature review, the research highlights a rising mental health crisis among the TikTok generation. Findings indicate a significant correlation between compulsive content consumption and increased symptoms of anxiety, depression, and body dysmorphia. The paper also examines algorithmic manipulation, peer validation pressures, and socio-cultural shifts in digital identity. Recommendations for digital literacy education and policy-level interventions are provided.
