Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the ruminal amino acid degradation rate and small intestinal digestibility of different ingredients in ruminant diets, to provide a theoretical basis for formulating ruminant diet and improving the utilization efficiency of feed resources. The results showed that the degradation rate of branched-chain amino acid (BCAA) was lower that of essential amino acid (EAA) and total amino acid (TAA). Specifically, the degradation rates of Leu and Ile within BCAA were lower than those of EAA and TAA, as they are resistant to degradation by rumen microorganisms. The small intestinal digestibility of rumen undegradable protein (RUP)-TAA, RUP-EAA, RUP-BCAA, RUP-Lys, and RUP-Met was generally higher in concentrate feedstuffs than in roughage feedstuffs.
