Data File: Two Small-Sample Examinations of Convergent Validity of Self-Report and Computer Based Assessments of Attention
Abstract
This data paper presents two small datasets (N=51 and N=52 respectively) combining self-report and computer-based measures of attention, coded as Study 1 and Study 2. Study 1 assessed the convergent validity of ADHD-related self-report symptoms (Current Symptom Scale) with three computer-based assessments: the Stroop Test, Conners Continuous Performance Test-II (CCPT), and Posner’s Spatial Cueing Task (SCT). Study 2 includes the same measures from the pretest phase of a pilot attention training intervention. All data were collected from undergraduate psychology students at a small public university in New York. Preliminary analyses revealed limited correlations between self-report and computer-based measures. The dataset, with comprehensive codebook and preliminary analyses, is suitable for educational, thesis, or exploratory research, including analyses of attention constructs, ADHD symptomology, and intra-individual variability in attention.
