Oghuz Khan as a historical figure of the 6th-7th centuries
Abstract
The article proposes a new hypothesis regarding the historical figure of Oghuz Khan. According to thisversion, Oghuz Khan was a descendant of the Turkic Qibi tribe and served as an ally and vassal of a Western Turkic Yabgu during the 6th to 7th centuries. The hypothesis is based on the analysis of epic sources, linguistic data, and medieval chronicles.
